Residential Garage Burglary on South Phelps Avenue, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police received a report about 9:46 AM Friday of a residential garage burglary in the block of 500 South Phelps Avenue Arlington Heights, Il. Police received a report that an unknown offender or offenders entered a garage where the garage door was accidentally left open.

Police received a report that offender(s) entered an unlocked silver 2004 Chevy Geo Tracker. The victim’s wallet was left in the center console and was reported stolen.

Three unauthorized transactions were reported from credit cards that were in the wallet. Two unauthorized charges occurred at Popeyes in Mount Prospect, and one unauthorized charge occurred at McDonald’s in Mount Prospect. Total charges were over $50.

The victim’s wallet was holding $35 cash, credit cards, debit cards, a driver’s license, and an insurance card.

The crime is reported to have occurred between March 7, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. and March 8, 2013 at 9:45 a.m.
