Update on Multiple Vehicle Burglaries at Xsport Fitness on East Golf Rd, Arlington Heights

Additional details are available on vehicle burglaries that were reported last week in The Cardinal. Three vehicle burglaries wre reported on three consecutive days: Thursday, February 28, 2013; Friday, March 1, 2013, and Saturday, March 2, 2013. The three burglaries all occurred at or before 8:00 a.m.

On Thursday, February 28, 2013 an unknown offender or offenders shattered the rear driver side window on a gray 2006 Cadillac CTS and removed a cream colored Brahmin purse (valued at $300) which contained a matching wallet (valued at $200), a cell phone (valued at $200), credit/debit cards, gift cards, checkbook and a driver’s license. The purse was located near the back seat. The window damage is estimated at $250. A Groot Industries waste management employee discovered the purse located next to a dumpster at the Shell Station on Arlington Heights Road and Algonquin Road. The cell phone and some of the credit cards were still missing.

A Mobil card was used at an unknown gas station. Other credit cards were also used in the downtown Chicago area.

The crime on February 28 is reported to have occurred between 6:30 a.m. and 7:15 a.m.

On Friday, March 1 2013 an unknown offender or offenders shattered the rear driver side window on a silver 2011 Mazda CX-9 and removed a black purse, which the victim had tucked underneath the front seat. The purse contained a Blackberry cell phone (valued at $100) and credit/debit cards. The credit cards were used at a Citgo Station in Des Plaines. No value available for the purse.

Staff approached the victim and notified her of a vehicle burglary in the lot.

The crime on March 1 is reported to have occurred between 7:15 a.m. and 8:00 a.m.

On Saturday, March 2, 2013 an unknown offender or offenders shattered the passenger side window of a silver 2012 Hyundai Elantra and removed a black purse (valued at $150) from the rear passenger floor. The purse contained approximately $700 cash, checks, credit/debit cards and a Canon camera (valued at $300). A black make-up bag was also removed.

The crime on Saturday, March 2 is reported to have occurred between 7:15 am and 7:40 a.m.

A suspicious person was reported in the lot, but no details were available.

  1. You take your stuff inside the place- they steal it. Hide your stuff inside your car in their parking lot- they steal it. Pretty sad.
