Range Rover vs. Maserati Gun Battle on Las Vegas Blvd Near Flamingo Rd

Gunshots fired from a black Range Rover on the Las Vegas Strip early Thursday caused a Maserati to crash into a taxi, creating a fireball and killing three people as the SUV sped away.

About 4:30 a.m. Thursday there was a rolling gun battle northbound on Las Vegas Boulevard, according to Sgt. John Sheehan, Las Vegas. The driver of the Maserati was shot and killed. The Maserati the dead man was driving proceded to hit a taxi cab, and three other vehicles were also struck. An explosion and fireball occurred during the crash. In addition to the dead driver of the Maserati, the cab driver and a passenger were killed. A passenger in the Maserati was also injured. One of the people killed was identified as Kenneth Cherry Jr. — a rapper also known as Kenny Clutch.

The Range Rover is described as having large rims and having some type of dealer advertising sign on the vehicle.

The incident apparently began with a shot fired into the Maserati at a stoplight at Las Vegas Boulevard near Caesars Palace, 3570 Las Vegas Blvd. South, Las Vegas and other nearby casinos. The Maserati rolled to the intersection of Las Vegas Boulevard and Flamingo Road, where it collided with the taxi and three or four other vehicles.
