One Dead: Identity Released for Victim of Shooting at Townhouse on Kingsbury Drive in Hanover Park

Police and firefighter/paramedics from Hanover Park responded about 9:18 am. Tuesday August 11, 2020 to a report that two people were shot in a townhouse residence in the block of 1300 Kingsbury in Hanover Park in Cook County. The crime scene in a residential neighborhood was located just northeast of the intersection of Barrington Road and Irving Park Road.

Ricky Foster, age 26 of south suburban South Holland, was identified as a victim who died at the scene of the shooting in Hanover Park. South Holland is located about 48 miles southeast of Hanover Park.

Police received a report that a friend walked into the townhouse unit and shot two people. The gunshot victims were initially described as awake and breathing. The scene was secured within minutes by police, and it was confirmed that the shooter fled the scene.

Paramedics transported the mortally wounded male victim to St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates, where he was pronounced dead at 10:22 a.m.




Hanover Park police are investigating the shooting death with the assistance of the Cook County Major Case Assistance Team (MCAT). Hanover Park police initially announced that there is no threat to the public, defining the shooting as an “isolated incident.” Hanover Park police released few details about the case, and as of 10:00 a.m. Wednesday August 12, 2020 did not alert citizens about the incident on their official Facebook account or their official Twitter account. A second gunshot victim was not initially confirmed by Hanover Park Police Department, and the condition or the existence of a second gunshot victim was not initially confirmed.
