Niles robbery suspect from today matches descriptions of suspect in other robberies that have occurred in Skokie and Morton Grove (Photo in this release is from a robbery that occurred in Skokie).
Niles Police Department responded at 11:37 a.m. to a report of an Armed Robbery which had occurred in the hair salon located in the 8300 block of Golf Road. The offender entered the store. An employee walked to the front of the store to help a “would be customer”. The offender displayed a handgun, demanded money from the cash register. The employee placed an indeterminate amount of money into a backpack the offender brought with him. The offender then walked out of the store.
There were two other employees present in the store but they were in the rear of the store. None of the employees were hurt. This location did not have any surveillance video available.
The offender is described as a male in his mid-30’s, approximately 5’10’, 200 lbs, wearing dark sunglasses, a black jacket with the hood covering his head armed with a handgun.
Anyone citizens who may have information regarding this incident is urged to call the Niles Police Department Investigations Unit at 847-588-6500. If anyone sees a suspect matching the description, please do not approach the offender. Call 911 immediately.
