Mass shooting at Miller Brewing in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Police and firefighter/paramedics from Milwaukee responded about 2:11 p.m. Wednesday, February 26, 2020 to a report of an active shooter at Molson Coors Brewery or Miller Coors at 3939 West Highland Avenue in Milwaukee. Early reports are that multiple wounded people were transported to area hospitals. Early in the incident, an active shooter was reported in Building 4 of Molson Coors campus.

UPDATE: According to Milwaukee Police Department Chief Alfonso Morales, police responded at 2:08 p.m. Wednesday, February 26, 2020 to Molson Coors Beverage Company, which local residents have known as the old Miller Brewery. Police officers located the suspect, a 51 year-old male from Milwaukee. Also five victims were located dead. They were employees of the Molson Coors Beverage Company. No other people were injured.

As of 4:00 p.m. the scene is still classified as an active scene. Milwaukee police scheduled a 6 p.m. news conference for the Molson Coors shooting.

Law enforcement officers from Milwaukee Police Department, Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office, Marquette University Police Department and the U.S. Marshals responded to the scene.

Multiple paramedic units from Milwaukee and West Allis were also dispatched to the scene.

Early reports indicate seven people were killed, including the shooter. An early report indicates that the shooter was an employee that was recently fired, and returned to work and opened fire.

Marquette High School, 3401 W. Wisconsin Ave., Woodlands School, 3121 W. State St., and Story Elementary School, 3815 W Kilbourn Ave. were placed on lockdown.

The Molson Coors Beverage Company was formed in 2005 by the merger of Molson of Canada, and Coors of the United States. Molson Brewery, Coors Brewing Company, and Miller Brewing Company are subsidiaries of Molson Coors.

In October 2007, SABMiller and Molson Coors Brewing Company announced a joint venture to be known as MillerCoors for their U.S. operations that would wholesale all of their products. In October 2019 the company changed its name to Molson Coors Beverage Company and announced that re-structuring would bring 400 to 500 jobs cuts.

Molson Coors also announced that the company would open the company’s new North American operational headquarters in Chicago, but that several positions in offices throughout the United States will be moved to the Milwaukee office.

Molson Coors Brewing company had an operational headquarters at 1801 California St in Denver. The operational headquarters move will strategically place operations near the company’s MillerCoors subsidiary, already located in Chicago at 250 South Wacker Drive.
