House Fire on Sequoia Ct Near Windmill Creek Dr in Antioch

Police and firefighter/paramedics from Antioch responded about 4:55 p.m. Friday February 7, 2020 to a report of a house fire in the block of 300 Sequoia Court. Battalion Chief 21 on arrival reported smoke showing from the second floor. A 2-story home on a cul-de-sac with fire hydrants in the neighborhood. Eventually fire was showing through the roof of the home.

The General Alarm for a working fire went straight to 2nd Alarm, skipping the Box Alarm level. The Second Alarm for MABAS Box #21-B1 was activated at 5:15 p.m. Mutual aid was assigned from Fox Lake, Grayslake, Gurnee, Lake Villa, McHenry, Newport, Round Lake, Salem Lakes, and Winthrop Harbor.

Beach Park, Grayslake, Great Lakes, Spring Grove, Waukegan crews were assigned to Antioch fire stations for station standby.

Staging for fire equipment was at Windmill Creek Drive and Depot Street.

The MABAS Box Alarm was struck out at 6:34 p.m. with most or all crews working overhaul for an additional amount of time.

The fire is under investigation.
