Wallet Theft from Shopping Cart at Trader Joe’s on Rand Rd, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police received a report about 4:18 PM Tuesday October 15, 2019 of a wallet theft at Trader Joe’s, 17 West Rand Road Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that an unknown female offender unlawfully took the victim’s wallet from a shopping cart. The offender distracted the victim by asking the victim’s questions while inside the store and took the wallet from the victim’s cart while the victim was distracted.

The victim’s credit card, which was contained inside the wallet, was later used fraudulently at another department store.

The offender is described as female/unspecified in her mid-late twenties, approximately 5’8″ tall, medium build with dyed blond hair and wearing a black sweatshirt, black leggings and carrying a large black purse.

The crime is reported to have occurred on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 between 3:45 PM and 4:17 PM. The elapsed time range including the time the crime could have occurred is 0:32 (hours: minutes).
