Aurora Police Investigating Shooting of Person on South LaSalle St Near Center Ave, Aurora

Police and firefighter/paramedics from Aurora, Illinois responded just after 7:30 p.m. Thursday, October 10, 2019 to multiple 9-1-1 calls reporting that a person was shot in the block of 400 South LaSalle Street. The shooting scene is a residential neighborhood just east of Route 25, and east and south of downtown Aurora.

Aurora police and firefighter/paramedics responded to the address and found a 29-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Aurora Fire Department paramedics treated and transported the man to an area hospital, according to Aurora Police Department. The male shooting victim was transferred by a medical transport helicopter to a Chicago area hospital for additional treatment. According to Aurora police, he was listed in “critical but stable condition” by about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Aurora Police Department detectives responded to the scene and began interviewing potential witnesses, canvassing the area and investigating the specific circumstances of the incident. Evidence Technicians from Aurora Police’s Evidence Unit also responded to the scene to identify and collect forensic evidence from the shooting.
