Wallet Lifted From Purse During Lunch at Portillo’s on West Dundee Rd, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police received a report Wednesday, January 2, 2013 of a theft at Portillo’s, 806 West Dundee Road. Police received a report that an unknown offender or offenders removed a black GiGi Hill Dynasty wallet (valued at $50) from the purse hanging on the back of a restaurant chair. By the time the theft was discovered the offender(s) had attempted to charge over $5,000 at two different stores. The wallet contained a driver’s license, $45 cash, several credit/debit cards and gift cards.

The victim became aware of the crime about 2:00 p.m. Wednesday when her credit card company called her to notify her that attempts of $2500 each were made at the Target store in Arlington Heights and the Target store in Palatine.

The crime is reported to have occurred on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 between 1:00 p.m and 1:30 p.m. while the victim was eating lunch.
