Brian Rini, Age 23, Claiming to Be Missing Timmothy Pitzen Has Extensive Criminal Record, Including False Police Reports

The man accused of claiming to be missing Aurora boy Timmothy Pitzen is not even 14-years-old is Brian Rini, 23, and has an extensive criminal record in northeast Ohio.

How did a male who is 23 years-old with extensive criminal history pass the initial screening that he could even be a 14 year-old boy? How was the male suspect not immediately recognized as a possible scammer involved in a hoax when he was known to have an extensive Ohio criminal history of false police reports, and was released from Ohio prison to probation only one month before his Timmothy Pitzen hoax? Was there no fingerprinting initially investigated on April 3, 2019? The initial false report broke out of the local scene in Newport, Kentucky — just across the Ohio River near Cincinnati, Ohio — and quickly spread nationwide. Someone at the local police level had to have a strong suspicion about the veracity of the Brian Rini story. Did the police fail to provide an early alert to the media about the possibility of a hoax, or did the media ignore police caution about the story?

Timmothy was born in Aurora, Illinois to parents James Pitzen and Amy Joan Marie Fry-Pitzen in 2004.

On May 11, 2011, Timmothy’s father dropped him off at his kindergarten class at Greenman Elementary School. His mother checked him out of class between 8:10 and 8:15 AM CDT, falsely claiming a family emergency, The mother and son are known to have visited Brookfield Zoo, the KeyLime Cove Resort in Gurnee, and the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin.

Timmothy Pitzen from Aurora was reported missing in May 2011. The 6 year-old boy’s mother committed suicide in a hotel room in Rockford on May 13 or May 14, 2011 after leaving a note that said Pitzen was safe and would never be found.

Timmothy Pitzen was last seen on May 12, 2011, with his mother at a water park in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, according to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
