Hawthorne Woods police responded about 4:20 PM Saturday March 23, 2019 to an armed robbery at the Gilmer’s Shell gas station 25809 Midlothian Road Hawthorn Woods, IL. Police received a report that a male offender robbed the Shell station while armed with a Derringer handgun, which is a small handgun that is neither a semi-automatic nor a revolver, but looks like a revolver from a distance.
The suspect was described as a male/black with a thin mustache, wearing a black hoodie and tan sweatpants.
The offender’s vehicle was described as a tan sedan with tinted windows.
The offender’s vehicle was last seen northbound on Midlothian Road from the scene.
Hawthorn Woods Police Department is investigating the armed robbery.
The crime is reported to have occurred about 4:20 p.m.
