Hoffman Estates firefighter/paramedics responded about 3:15 p.m. Monday February 18, 2019 to an area of the forest preserve near North Barrington Road and Higgins Road known as the Barrington Road Pond Picnic Grove. Firefighter/paramedics received a report that a man was unresponsive in a vehicle with engine revving up. Upon arrival firefighter/paramedics found a male deceased, and requested police to respond to the scene.
Cook County Sheriff’s police confirmed that the body of a man in his 40s was found in the Poplar Creek Forest Preserve near Hoffman Estates.
The area of the scene was near the first driveway on south Barrington Road south of Higgins Road.
Cook County sheriff’s police were notified of the death soon after firefighter/paramedics arrived, according to sheriff’s office spokeswoman Sophia Ansari said.
According to Cook County Sheriff’s Police, the death appears to be an isolated case, and Cook County Sheriff’s police are investigating.
