School Bus Driver Dies: Found Unresponsive in Crash with 3 Parked Cars at Highland Middle School, Rockland Rd, Libertyville

Libertyville police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 5:42 p.m. Tuesday January 29, 2019 to a report that a school bus crashed into three parked vehicles outside Highland Middle School in Libertyville. Libertyville police and firefighter/paramedics on arrival discovered that the driver — alone in the vehicle — was unresponsive and not breathing. Firefighter/paramedics administered CPR and Advanced Life Support treatment, and transported the school bus driver to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, where the driver was pronounced dead.

The driver was not initially identified by authorities pending notification of family.

The Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team is investigating the crash.
