Due to a record cold temperature forecast, Groot — the dedicated refuse service for Arlington Heights — will not provide garbage/recycling pickup on Wednesday, January 30, 2019.
Refuse & recycling collection services in the Village of Arlington Heights will be delayed by one day.
Groot is concerned with safety of workers and protection of equipment on Wednesday, when the morning low is expected reach -21°F, which would be record-breaking cold for the day (-15°F in 1966).
The high temperature for Wednesday is only expected to reach -13°F, which would be a record-breaking cold maximum temperature for all days of the year (-11 on January 18, 1994).
