UPDATE: Criminal Damage to Vehicle At Apartment Lot Near Goebbert Rd and Falcon Dr, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police received a report about 2:20 PM Thursday of a vehicle burglary in progress/criminal damage to vehicle in progress at an apartment parking lot in the 2200 block of South Goebbert Road. Police received a report that an offender was seen entering a gold 2000 Cadillac STS after pulling the door handles on several other vehicles.

The offender was described as a male/black wearing a black hoodie with a hat and light blue jeans. The suspect then walked northbound on Meier from Golf Road. Mount Prospect police were then called for assistance. The suspect then walked to the school parking lot of Holmes Junior High School.

Mount Prospect police apprehended the suspect at Rusty Drive and Deborah Lane in Mount Prospect. The male was transported back to the scene for investigation, and then arrested. Police arrested Jermamie M Okoh, 19, of the 700 block East Golf Road. He was transported in custody to Arlington Heights Police Department Headquarters. His court date is January 17, 2012.

The witness followed the suspect until officers took him into custody. Nothing was removed from the vehicle and no other vehicles appear to have been entered.
