The driver of an Acura TL was pronounced deceased at the scene of a head-on crash. Both the driver and the only passenger in the Buick were transported to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Condell Medical Center by Fox Lake firefighter/paramedics. The driver of a Buick Century sustained minor injuries. The passenger in the Buick — a 72-year-old woman of Round Lake — was listed in critical condition at the Condell.

For an unknown reason, the Acura TL entered the eastbound lanes of traffic and struck the Buick Century head-on. The driver that was killed in the Acura TL was not wearing a seatbelt.
