Prospect Heights Police and Officials Leading Food Drive at Tony’s Finer Foods, Prospect Heights

FOOD DRIVE INCLUDES SUPPORT FOR SUMMER CONDO FIRE VICTIMS

Prospect Heights police officers, city staff and elected officials as well as community volunteers will be hosting an annual Thanksgiving Food Drive at Tony’s Finer Foods, 1241 East Rand Road this weekend on Friday, November 16; Saturday, November 17; and Sunday, November 18, 2018.

Donated food will be collected to help Prospect Heights families who are in need during the holiday season. This year’s 2018 drive will also benefit the victims of last summer’s River Trails fire on McIntosh Court in Prospect Heights that destroyed three of four 3-story condominium buildings, destroying at least 96 condo units, on Wednesday, July 18, 2018.

The Prospect Heights Police Department seeks your assistance in donating food items after shopping at Tony’s Finer Foods. Volunteers will be on site Friday, November 16th (3pm to 9pm), Saturday, November 17th (9am to 4pm) and Sunday, November 18th from (12pm-5pm) look for our flashing lights.

Distribution will take place on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at Harper College Learning and Career Center (1375 S Wolf Rd, Prospect Heights, IL) there will be other fun activities, informational booths and community organizations present in addition to the food basket distribution. Partner Community organizations in the event are Creekside Health, Wings, Omni Youth Services, NW Compass, Prospect Heights Public Library, Prospect Heights Park District, Indian Trails Public Library and the Wheeling Park District. Prospect Heights police said the event would not be successful without support from Harper College Learning and Career Center, Route 12 Rental, Bill Stasek Chevrolet and Tony’s Finer Foods.
