Elk Grove Village police reported 3:56 AM Wednesday a pursuit near Arlington Heights Rd and Landmeier Rd. Police reported that a black Mercedes backed into the squad car on Landmeier Road and took off at a high rate of speed — westbound on Landmeier Road and then northbound on Arlington Heights Road.

The driver was described as a male/black subject with a large build. A passenger was described as a male/Hispanic with a medium build.

The vehicle was described as a black Mercedes displaying temporary tags with rear-end damage after the crash.

The driver is wanted for aggravated battery and fleeing an eluding. The pursuit was terminated by a police supervisor.

There was some confusion whether the vehicle was the same vehicle that was earlier described as a black BMW reported stolen out of Hanover Park. That vehicle was described as a black BMW with temporary license 853 N 000.
