Jaclyn Santos-Sacramento, 5-Yrs-Old, Kille; Car Jumps Curb in Downtown Highland Park

Highland Park police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 2:30 p.m. Monday to the 700 block of Central Avenue after a car jumped onto a sidewalk and struck a 5-year-old girl, her 2-year-old brother, her 4-year-old brother and her 25-year-old mother. Five-year-old Jaclyn Santos-Sacramento was transported to Evanston Hospital where she was pronounced dead about 5:00 p.m. Her brothers and mother were transported to Highland Park Hospital.

The 18-year-old female driver of the Lexus that hit the pedestrians was treated and released. No word on arrests or charges.
