Area police departments were notified about 8:10 AM Tuesday that the Illinois State Police were taking report of a possible shot out window of a vehicle that was southbound on Route 53, just south of Lake Cook Road. Apartments are located on both sides of the stretch of highway commonly called Route 53. Sound barriers exist on both sides of the expressway. Some of the sound barriers are collapsed and some second floor apartments have line of sight to the expressway traffic. Illinois State Police are investigating.
