Quick Knock of Car Fire in Engine Compartment of Ford Mustang on East Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights

VIDEO: Car fire from early stages of fire operations to extinguish engine compartment fire in an older model Ford Mustang.

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 7:01 PM Tuesday to a report of smoking coming from the hood of a Ford Mustang. in the 700 block of East Northwest Highway. Firefighters arrived to find a Ford Mustang with moderate smoke coming from the engine compartment and some fire on the pavement from burning debris under the engine compartment.

Firefighters popped the hood and fire that flared up from the engine compartment was quickly extinguished with a hose line.

Overhead speakers during dispatch malfunctioned in fire stations.
