Fatal Crash in Residential Neighborhood at Waverly Drive and Waverly Ct, Elgin

Elgin police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 2:47 a.m. Sunday August 26, 2018 to a report of a car crash with a tree at Waverly Drive and Waverly Court.

Police and firefighter/paramedics arrived to find that a 22-year-old Elgin man was seriously injured in a one-car crash with a tree. The driver was the only occupant of the car — a 2009 Infiniti sedan. The male victim was transported to Advocate Sherman Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His identity was not initially released by police.

Police urged anyone with information about to the crash to call Elgin police at 847-289-2661, or text 847411 with ELGINPD at the beginning of the text along with the information.
