Man Arrested While Selling Lawn Mowers Stolen from Walmart, Palatine

Palatine police responded to Walmart on north Rand Road to a report of retail theft earlier this month. Palatine police studied a security tape which showed a man cutting security chains and stealing two lawn mowers. Police later recognized the offender at Wolff’s Flea Market, 1775 N. Rand Road.

Charles David Lewis, 64, of the 1100 block of East Northwest Highway in Palatine, was arrested around noon June 10, 2012 at Wolff’s Flea Market. He was charged with retail theft in connection with the theft of two lawn mowers from Walmart. One of the lawn mowers was recovered.
