The manager of an Iowa dairy farm that employed the man suspected of killing 20-year-old Mollie Tibbetts says the suspect was a good employee who worked there for four years under a fake name.

Mollie Tibbetts’ body was found Tuesday morning August 21, 2018 in a farm field southeast of Brooklyn, Iowa on 460th Street in rural Poweshiek County, Iowa (about halfway between Iowa City and Des Moines). Police say they believe suspect Cristhian Rivera, age 24, was an illegal alien that was living in the area six or seven years. A security camera image placed the suspect with the victim, Mollie Tibbetts. The body was difficult to find in previous searches because corn stalks had been placed over her body. In an interview with police, Rivera led police to the location of the body, and described his encounter with Mollie Tibbetts, age 20, when she was abducted on Wednesday, July 18, 2018.

The homicide suspect’s attorney said Cristhian Rivera had no previous criminal record, and said his client sits here (in court) presumed innocent. Rivera is charged with murder in the first degree. Rivera’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for Friday, August 31st 2018 at 2:00 p.m.

The judge set Rivera’s bond in the amount of $5 million cash in the name of the defendant only, and only after approval for pre-trial release by the Department of Corrections.

Cristhian Rivera, the 24-year-old suspected illegal immigrant charged with murdering Mollie Tibbetts, has arrived in court in Iowa to make his first appearance since taking police to her body.

Law enforcement officials briefed media on recently revealed details of a body being discovered in the month-long investigation of missing Iowa student Mollie Tibbetts (Streamed Live by Fox News on August 21, 2018).
