Malicious False Fire Alarm and a Man Struck in the Face at Apartments on North Plum Grove Rd, Schaumburg

Schaumburg firefighter/paramedics responded about 3:50 a.m. Tuesday to a report of an activated fire alarm at Versailles on the Lakes, 1018 North Plum Grove Road. When firefighters arrived they saw a man walking away from a manual fire alarm pull station. Firefighters reported a malicious false alarm, discovered vandalism unrelated to the cause of the fire alarm, and called for police to respond.

Police arrived and called for backup as a man was struck in the face. One person was transported to Alexian Brothers Medical Center and a male subject was transported in custody to Schaumburg Police Department Headquarters.
