Mount Prospect Police Community Alert After Multiple Burglaries

Mount Prospect police released a community alert on March 5, 2012 that reported they are investigating multiple residential burglaries in the far northeast section of the Village, which occurred between Thursday March 1, 2012 and Sunday March 4, 2012. The affected neighborhoods covered in this time period are bordered by Seminole Lane on the north, Kensington Road on the south, Burning Bush Lane on the east, and Wolf Road on the west.

1700 block of Laurel Drive
900-1000 block of Moki
(outside the east border of Burning Bush Lane)

Preliminary investigation has discovered that recent burglaries occurred in the early evening to late evening hours when the homeowners were away from their homes. The offender or offenders used force to pry open windows or doors located primarily on the rear of the homes. Items taken in the burglaries included jewelry, cash and other valuables that are easily transported.


Mount Prospect police are asking that all residents be extra vigilant and report any suspicious persons, cars, or activity in their neighborhood by calling 9-1-1. Mount Prospect police have increased patrols in the affected area and will continue to do so for the next several days.

Any individuals with specific knowledge of the crime are urged to call the Investigative Section of the Mount Prospect Police Department at 847-870-5654. Additionally, individuals can call CRIME STOPPERS at 847-590-7867.
