Tornado Video: Massive Band of Storms, Tornados Hit Henryville, Indiana; Milton, Kentucky

Storm chasers capture on video the destructive band of storms as it touched down in Indiana Friday near Henryville. There is extensive damage in the area with homes flattened and roofs ripped off.

Indiana Homeland Security spokeswoman Emily Norcross confirmed that three deaths were reported in Jefferson County.

Major Chuck Adams of the Clark County Sheriff’s office reported one person died in Henryville. WAVE-TV in Louisville reported a tornado up to a half-mile wide that struck Henryville, in Clark County just north of Louisville. The high school was report destroyed or heavily damaged. For awhile 30 people were reported trapped.

Tornadoes struck several small southern Indiana towns on Friday.

In Milton, Kentucky a fire station was destroyed and at least one of the response vehicles was put out of service. Fire Station 2 Milton Fire and Rescue was reported destroyed or heavily damaged with a gas leak also reported. Fire Chief Jason Long later reported that all of the fire station was destroyed except for one part that was left standing, where a firefighter was inside and not injured. A fire engine was also reported destroyed with other fire department equipment.
