Suspicious Person at the Door Reported on Larchmont Dr, Buffalo Grove

#ad▼

Buffalo Grove police received a report of a suspicious person approached a resident about 3:25pm on February 28, 2012 in the 1300 block of Larchmont Drive.

The resident reported that a male subject came to his door, and then apologized and stated that he was at the wrong address. The subject then drove away in a silver car. Officers checked the area with negative results.

Cardinal Note:
For residential security reasons, it’s probably a good idea to report this type of suspicious activity to police. A burglary ring recently busted in the west suburbs was discovered to have used a technique of going door to door, asking for a person by name, and pretending to be at the wrong address. Eventually when a door was knocked with no answer, the door would be forcibly entered and the residence would be burglarized.
