Christopher Bogucki, 19, of Arlington Heights was reported killed in a large, busy intersection in Elk Grove Village Wednesday night.

Elk Grove police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 10:11 p.m. to a report of a pedestrian hit by two vehicles on northbound Busse Road, south of Oakton. Police arrived first to find a victim in the left turn lane of northbound Busse Road, just south of Oakton.

Firefighter/paramedics called for addition help for Advanced Life Support for the victim due to life-threatening injuries. He was transported to Alexian Brothers Medical Center, but pronounced dead at the scene.

Police initially received a report that two vehicles might have hit the pedestrian. An early report had a first vehicle fleeing the scene, and a second vehicle striking stopped. No description was available for the offending vehicle as of 10:35 p.m. Wednesday, and early Thursday morning the case is apparently not being investigated as a hit-and-run. Police say that a Ford Fusion, driven by a 47-year-old motorist in the northbound turn lane from Busse Road (to westbound Oakton Street) struck Christopher Bogucki, who was standing in the roadway.

Northbound Busse Road was closed during rescue and was expected to be closed for a prolonged time period for accident investigation. Northbound and southbound lanes of Busse road were opened at about 10:54 p.m. with investigation ongoing.
