Rush Hour Crunch: Car vs. Garbage Truck on Arlington Heights Rd, Arlington Heights

VIDEO: Morning rush hour crash closed down northbound Arlington Heights Road for about 30 minutes Thursday morning.

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 6:01 a.m. Thursday to the 300 block of South Arlington Heights Road to a report of a car vs. garbage truck crash. Police were on the scene within seconds and discovered the driver of a red Chevy Impala was injured.

No word on how the crash happened.

One northbound driver, not involved in the crash, headed right for the police officer in the yellow jacket and claimed he didn’t see the police officer or the flares that were on the road. Northbound drivers were being diverted east on Grove Street and then north on Pine Avenue.
