Power Failure in Schaumburg: Blown Transformer Near Milan Ct and Desmond Dr

Schaumburg firefighter/paramedics responded about 10:46 a.m. Sunday to a report of a blown transformer with smoke showing in the 300 block of Milan Court. Firefighters received a report that smoke was showing from the transformer and that witness saw a flash from the transformer. On arrival, firefighters reported no electric power in the area of Milan Court and Desmond Drive, south of Weathersfield Way. Firefighters reported no hazard in the area, and reported the power outage to Com Ed.

About 1500 people lost power in Schaumburg. Some people were still without power at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
