Morning Commute on Northwest Line Delayed by Personal Vehicle on Tracks

#ad▼

Arlington Heights police and Hillside Towing responded about 5:03 a.m. Wednesday to a report of a car on the railroad tracks at Arlington Heights Road and Northwest Highway. Police received a report that an elderly driver was standing outside the vehicle. Police on the scene reported the vehicle was on the north side of the railroad tracks — ‘pretty far down the tracks.’

Union Pacific workers responded to inspect the tracks.

No service advisory was posted on the official Metra website, presumably since the removal of the car was expected to be quick.

The vehicle was cleared from the tracks about 5:22 a.m.
