Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 1:03 p.m. Thursday to a report of a heater on fire at the Northwest Community Hospital Center for Specialty Medicine, 800 West Central Road. Emergency responders received a report that a heater was on fire near the registration area while weather outside was about 11°F. When firefighters arrived, they learned that a fire drill was in progress. Apparently the switchboard operator was not aware that the fire alert was a fire drill.

Rolling Meadows firefighter/paramedics assisted Arlington Heights on the response.
