Arlington Heights police received a report of a theft of a Christmas in the 900 block of West Cedar Lane. Police received a report that an unknown offender or offenders removed a card containing $20 cash and a bottle of wine ($40) from the top of the garbage container. A resident left the items out as a Christmas gift for the garbage man. A younger male driving a small green car took the items.
The crime is reported to have occurred at 2:30 p.m. Friday, December 23, 2011.
