ABC World News Now: Security has been beefed up since Monday’s chair-throwing melee.

Police took about an hour to get the melee under control. Initially, Bloomington do not know what caused the fight.

Police are checking surveillance video and YouTube videos.

Anchors referenced a rumor that Lil’ Wayne and Drake the Rap were supposed to be entertaining at the mall.

Mall of America is located southeast of the junction of Interstate 494 and Minnesota State Highway 77, north of the Minnesota River and is across the interstate from the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. Mall of America opened in 1992. About 40 million visitors pas through the Mall of America annually. Main stores include Macy’s, Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, Sears, Nickelodeon Universe Amusement Park, Minnesota Sealife Aquarium Underwater World Aquarium, and AMC Theaters.

The Mall of America is the second largest mall in the United States (2,779,242 square feet), and is owned and managed by The Triple Five Group, which is owned by Canada’s Ghermezian family.

Jacob Ghermezian, (died January 3, 2000) moved from Iran to Canada with his four sons in 1964. The four sons, Eskandar, Nader, Raphael and Bahman grew the family rug business into a real estate and construction “empire.”

Mall Cops: Mall of America is an American reality television series that follows the work of the security team at the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota, the second largest mall in North America.
