Schaumburg police responded about 6:05 p.m. Friday to a report of a theft at Sports Authority, 1015 East Golf Road. Police received a report that a man ran out of the store with 12 North Face coats.
The offender was described as a male/black wearing an orange stocking cap and a gray North Face coat. The offender fled in a black Saturn or Acura SUV. Police were investigating license plate registration on the vehicle.
The crime was captured on video, but a loss control employee was not able to stop the offender.
