Buffalo Grove police witnessed at about 8:48 p.m. Friday a hit-and-run crash on McHenry Road near Sam’s Club while working traffic assistance for Wheeling Police Department. Wheeling police were working on a vehicle vs. pedestrian incident at 1065 McHenry Road, Wheeling.

Buffalo Grove police were not directing traffic at the time of the hit-and-crash. Police reported a red 4-door sedan collided with another car during a lane change without looking first. The offending driver headed northbound on either northbound Weiland or McHenry Road toward Lake Cook Road.

No injuries were reported at the hit-and-run crash. The Buffalo Grove police could not follow the offending vehicle because the officer was committed to blocking eastbound traffic on McHenry Road.
