Arlington Heights police responded for backup about 3:49 a.m. Monday after a driver and passenger bailed from a tan Ford Windstar minvan when police pulled up behind the vehicle at Arlington Heights Road and Golf Road. The suspects ran northbound through the Jewel-Osco parking lot — possibly to the apartments just north of the parking lot. The suspects were described as (#1) male/white, 6′ thin build, wearing a black sweat jacket and (#2) male/white, blond hair, wearing a sky blue sweat jacket.

Police searched the area, and were assisted by K-9 units from Bartlett and Hanover Park. No word on any police contact with the suspects as of 7:00 a.m.

Police towed the Ford Windstar to a police holding area.
