Mount Prospect police responded about 5:50 p.m. Saturday to a report of retail theft at Walmart, 930 Mount Prospect Plaza. Police received a report that two suspects were involved in the theft of a cell phone from the store. The suspects were described as a male/white, late teens, wearing a blue hoodie; and a male/black, late teens, wearing a gray hoodie. the suspects were rported to have fled on bicycles toward Menard’s, and were last seen by Staples on their bikes. Loss prevention staff reported that the male/white was the suspect that allegedly took the phone.
Mount Prospect police had at least one of the suspects in custody at about 6:19 p.m. Saturday. The male was transported to the Walmart, and later transported in custody to Mount Prospect Police Department Headquarters.
