An FBI cadaver dog indicated a positive “hit” inside the Northland home in the 3600 block of Lister Avenue where Lisa Irwin disappeared from her crib, according to an affidavit police filed to support a request for a search warrant of the house. The dog is reported to have indicated a positive hit on the bedroom floor in the parents’s bedroom. A discovery of freshly turned dirt has also been reported in the backyard of the home on Lister Avenue.

Police have been seen exiting the house with a multi-colored comforter, a multi-colored Disney shirt, purple shorts and rolls of tape and a tape dispenser.

FBI agents are searching a Kansas landfill in connection with the disappearance of a missing 10-month-old Missouri girl. Authorities say this is the second time the agency has been at the Deffenbaugh Industries landfill at Interstate 435 and Holliday Drive.

Police and parents of missing 10-month-old Missouri girl, Lisa Irwin, have been at odds about how well the parents are cooperating. Mother Deborah Bradley and father Jeremy Irwin claim they have been cooperating. Police Captain Steve Young said at one point in front of media cameras that the parents have stopped cooperating.

Lisa was last seen on Monday, October 3, 2011 about 10:30 p.m. when her mother put her to bed in a crib. She was noticed missing when her father, an electrician, came home from an overnight shift involved with the renovation of a Starbucks about 4 a.m. Tuesday. Jeremy Irwin discovered an empty crib. Her father immediately called police.

Deborah Bradley also claimed cell phones were missing from the place she remembered leaving them.

Lisa Irwin — nicknamed ‘Pumpkin Pie’ — is described as a female/white, 10-months old with blue eyes and blonde hair, 30 inches tall, 26-30 LBS. Monday night, she was wearing purple shorts and a purple shirt with white kittens on it. She is also described as having two bottom teeth, a small bug bite under her left ear, and a beauty mark on her right outer thigh. She also had a cold with a cough on Monday night.

An Amber Alert was issued about 7:15 a.m. (Amber Alert Lisa Irwin — Kansas City, Missouri)

Non-scent discriminating dogs can indicate a ‘hit’ as an alert or can follow any scent of a given type, such as any human scent or any cadaver scent. Cadaver dogs can locate entire bodies (including those buried or submerged), decomposed bodies, body fragments (including blood, tissues, hair, and bones), or skeletal remains; the capability of the dog is dependent upon its training. Cadaver dogs can work “on lead” (to recover clues from a specific crime scene) or “off lead” (to search a large area for buried remains).
