Credit Card Charge Reverse After Company Shipped Merchandise to Address that Didn’t Match Customer’s Credit Card

Buffalo Grove police received a report from a business in the 400 block of Checker Drive that a customer ordered merchandise and that all of the credit cards that the customer offered were declined. The customer finally offered a credit card that was accepted.

Later the credit card company reported it would not honor the charge because the company official shipped the merchandise to an address that didn’t match the address on the customer’s credit card. Apparently the customer disputed the charges as fraudulent charges and the charges were investigated by the credit card security department.

The crime and/or investigation is reported to have occurred between May 11, 2011 and September 29, 2011.
