Theft from Palatine Walmart: Suspect Flees in Silver Car and Is Caught by Police

Palatine police responded about 2:52 p.m. Sunday to a report of retail theft at Walmart, 1555 North Rand Road. A man walked out of Walmart with food without paying. The suspect was described as a male/black with long, braided hair, wearing all black. Staff from the store followed the suspect. While he fled, the suspect dropped the food.

The suspect got into a silver 4-door vehicle that was last seen westbound on Dundee Road. Police caught up to the vehicle on Dundee Road at Hicks Road, and stopped the vehicle west of the location near Walgreens at Dundee Road and Hicks Road.

Palatine police transported one male/adult in custody to Palatine Police Department Headquarters.
