Algonquin Road Open Near Old Wilke After Gas Main Leak Repaired

Arlington Heights police and Rolling Meadows police have re-opened Algonquin Road after closing the road for an emergency repair of a gas leak that occurred at the northeast corner of Algonquin Road and Old Wilke. A contractor working in the area reported the leak about 1:40 p.m. Friday. The road was immediately closed by Rolling Meadows police and firefighters. Arlington Heights police also responded, and Mount Prospect firefighters also responded.

The road and area intersections were reopened just after 6:10 p.m. Friday. Expect some additional delays for a short period as police return area stoplights to normal operating conditions.
