Arlington Heights police received a report about 12:55 a.m. Saturday that a laser light was pointed at a Metra Train near the Arlington Park Racetrack train station. Police received a report that the train engineer had to stop the train to avoid being hit by the light. The light source was reported to have be somewhere from area of a bar — possibly Jimmy D’s near Northwest Highway and Wilke.

Police responded to Jimmy D’s and asked the staff if anyone had seen the laser light. No one reported seeing the light. Police also searched the surrounding area, but found nothing.

The train was not delayed for a significant amount of time.
