Ralph Nosal of Elk Grove Village Collapses, Dies in JP Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge in Chicago

Ralph Nosal of Elk Grove Village has been identified as a man who collapsed near Columbus and Lake Shore Drive and died during the JP Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge in downtown Chicago Thursday.

Ralph Nosal, 61, was transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was prounounced dead. An autopsy was scheduled for Friday. Nosal was managing director for March Inc., a global insurance brokerage firm.

The race, which started at 7:00 p.m., was the 30th running of the JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge located in and around Grant Park attracted a near-record crowd of 23,374 participants from a record 635 companies.

The race route is a USA Track & Field certified 3.5-mile course, starting on Balbo Drive south of Buckingham Fountain. The course headed up to Wacker Drive and finished on Columbus Drive, just north of Roosevelt Road.
