Arlington Heights police received a report of a purse theft at the Jewel-Osco, 1860 South Arlington Heights the offender was described as a male/white or Hispanic 5’3″ that was wearing a white shirt with dark horizontal stripes and baggy blue jeans. The subject was possibly involved with a red vehicle — possibly a Jeep — and was last seen heading south toward Golf Road. A male/Hispanic was reported to be driving the getaway car.
Police later received a report that the purse was returned. A bystander who saw what was happening, intervened and got the offender to return the purse.
Arlington Heights police investigated and found both suspects and arrested them about 10:30 p.m. Both suspects were transported in custody to Arlington Heights Police Department Headquarters.
