Roadside Safety Check Planned Friday, May 27, 2011

The Arlington Heights Police Department will be conducting a Roadside Safety Check late on Friday, May 27, 2011 in the 2300 block of S. Arlington Heights Road. Officers will be attempting to identify and apprehend motorists who choose to drive while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. Enforcement action will also be taken in the event other traffic violations are observed, including but not limited to driver’s license offenses, equipment violations, insurance violations and occupant restraint violations.

The roadside safety check is funded through a grant received from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, and is administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation’s Division of Traffic Safety.
