Two Unruly Passengers on 2 Separate Flight, 1 Tries to Open Door in Flight

On Continental Airlines Flight 546, a 34-year-old man tried to exit the main boarding door of a Boeing 737 — saying he had to get off the plane. The unruly passenger was subdued by passengers and the en route from Houston to Chicago was diverted to Lambert-St. Louis International Airport early afternoon Sunday.

On American Airlines Flight 1561, a 28-year-old man identified as Rageit Almurisi with a Yemen passport was banging on the cockpit door and yelling, and was subdued and restrained with plastic handcuffs. The reached its scheduled destination from Chicago to San Francisco, where the suspect was arrested at San Francisco International Airport at about 9:10 p.m.

Crew members and passengers wrestled a 28-year-old man to the cabin floor after he began pounding on the cockpit as an American Airlines flight approached San Francisco, authorities said Monday.
