Vehicle Burglary in Progress Reported Near Thomas and Wilke

Palatine police received a report just before 6:30 p.m. Saturday of a vehicle burglary witnessed by a victim in the 400 block of North Wilke in Palatine (about the 1400 block of North Wilke, just south of Thomas on the east side).

The victim arrived home with a friend to find three male/Hispanics breaking a window and removing items from a white Hyundai Tiburon.The three offenders fled in a red Pontiac. The driver was wearing a gray shirt. There was a passenger in the back seat wearing a black baseball cap on backwards. A third person was in the back seat wearing a white T-shirt. All three were estimated to be about 16-years-old.

Palatine police alerted area police departments. The location of the crime scene is located at the border with Arlington Heights.
